ADJ 248 - PROBATION,
PAROLE AND TREATMENT (3 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Surveys the philosophy,
history, organization, personnel and functioning of traditional and innovative
probation and parole programs; considers major treatment models for clients,
both in correctional facilities and in community based programs. Lecture
3 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this
course is to provide the student with a fundamental knowledge of the principles
and practices of probation and parole with the application of these techniques,
and to provide the student with basic knowledge of theories, practices,
and problems in the treatment of the offender in correctional facilities
and in community based correctional programs.
