During the 2011-12 academic year, NOVA served
- more than 76,000 students in credit courses
- more than 23,000 people in noncredit courses
- nearly 300,000 individuals through community activities on our campuses
NOVA is home to students who come to us from many backgrounds. Our international student population (20%) represents more than 180 different countries. Nearly 900 full-time faculty and administrators and 900 staff members serve our students. In addition, approximately 2,000 part-time faculty strengthen our ability to provide more courses and services.

Curricula of the College are approved by the College Board and by the State Board. The two-year associate degree programs are also approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
