Student Profile - Vina Ho
I’m a Social Science major at the Manassas Campus. My goal is to become an elementary school teacher one day. NOVA has been great with helping me prepare for my aspiration. I’m able to volunteer at an elementary school through required coursework. As a volunteer, I have an opportunity to interact with kids and gain on-the-job training working in a classroom. The experience has been amazing.
When I learned about the benefits of getting an education at NOVA, I immediately applied for admission. The decision to attend the College was the best choice I could make. It’s affordable, and the opportunities that are available to me as a student have been endless.
I work in the financial aid office. Part of my job description involves me helping other students complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). I will be the first in my family to graduate from college. I know how it feels to not really have anyone who knows how the process works, so I try my best to help new students become familiar with filling out their applications.
I have learned responsibility at NOVA. I’m more aware of my time and how to avoid wasting it. When you come to the College, have a goal in mind. Stay on track, remain focused on your goal and you will be fine.
