Student Profile - Erica Burrell
After I graduated from high school, my goal was to attend a four-year university. Aside from a great education, I wanted to live the college life, and I didn’t think NOVA was going to be able to provide that for me. I soon learned that it’s not always about where you go to school, but rather what you get out of the experience.
I’m working on completing an associate of science degree and then purse a major in nursing. I’m in the process of finishing the pre-requisites for my degree. The classes are really informative, and the professors make time for me whenever I need extra help. They really care about my success as a student.
Students who are considering NOVA should understand how the degree programs work. Know the requirements for graduation if you decide to transfer to a four-year university. Take advantage of the advisors and counselors you have available -- they are here to help you.
I recently became a Student Ambassador. My goal will be to inform prospective students of all the great opportunities NOVA has to offer. I want them to know that going to a community college can be just as rewarding as going to a university.
