I served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years right out of high school. My original plan was to have a career in the Navy and retire, but I was injured overseas. Knowing I was going to be discharged, I started looking into attending NOVA while I was overseas. I applied online and was accepted. When I got off the plane at Regan National I immediately went to NOVA to meet with my military advisor at the Woodbridge Campus. She got my class schedule in order.
I immersed myself in all my campus has to offer. I'm the vice president of Phi Theta Kappa (ΦΘΚ), a senator in the SGA and an ISC representative for Woodbridge. These roles have allowed me to continue building the leadership skills I started in the service. They've also given me a chance to civically help my community in a different way than I did in the service. Once I graduate from NOVA I'm going to transfer to George Mason to pursue a bachelor's in neuroscience, then I'll transfer to another university for my masters, take the MCATs and apply for med school!
