NOVA gives you a chance to try whatever classes you want, so you can decide what academic route you want to take when you get to a university. After high school I wasn't sure where I wanted to go; I thought NOVA would be a great place to figure that out.
It's very friendly here. You have a chance to meet new people, especially if you're kind of shy. There are a lot of clubs that you can get involved in. The professors won't brush off your questions-- they give you their time and make sure that you understand the curriculum. They help you grow and provide opportunities for you.
I've been able to come out of my shell. I've learned how to seek opportunities for myself because in high school you're kind of sheltered. College is definitely not what people make it seem; the saying that it's like the thirteenth grade -- it's not. It’s college. The classes are challenging. There's nothing high school about it. It's a wonderful opportunity to be able to find yourself.
