I've been an English instructor at NOVA for a little over two years. It's a very diverse and inclusive culture, set up to cater to a variety of different learning styles. NOVA promotes both academic and professional skills. I love teaching and can't imagine being anywhere else but here at NOVA.

As for my teaching style, I'm definitely more of a facilitator. I try to get students to teach one another. But I must say as a writing teacher I live for the sort of ineffable moment when a student writes something that he or she feels totally invested in. As much as I facilitate things, I really enjoy when they feel deeply connected to what they're writing. I think that happens through collaboration and trying to be innovative and creative in the classroom. I think that a really great teacher is one who is self-reflective in his or her style.
