Notification Procedures

In the event of an emergency you will be notified by various means depending on the emergency.

Ways you may be alerted:

  • Fire Alarm
  • Phones (classrooms and offices)
  • Computer Pop-Ups (networked computers)
  • Public Address System Announcements (where available)
  • Digital Flat Panels

A new emergency alert system that will send text messages to your cell phone and to your personal email addresses. This will let us communicate with you during times when timely and accurate information is vital. To be part of NOVA Alert, you must register for it!

You can find out more about NOVA Alert and register for it by going to http://alert.nvcc.edu or text the keyword “NOVA” to 411911 from your cell phone. You do not need to register your college student or faculty/staff email address—we will automatically send to that address.
