Thirty-four years of experience working in the public sector in the areas of Public Administration, Human Services, Grants Development and Administration, Evaluation, Finance, Project Administration and Community Colleges. Previous employers include the Pennsylvania State University; Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; the City of Houston, Texas; Alvin Community College, Alvin, Texas; and North Harris Montgomery Community College District, Houston, Texas. Taught political science, public administration and grants development courses on an adjunct basis at Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas; Houston International University, Houston, Texas; North Harris Montgomery Community College District; and Northern Virginia Community College (Continuing Education). Background
Thirty years of experience in international development, international education, institution building, and project development, fund raising, and grants management for the U.S. State Department, the National Endowment for Democracy, the United Nations, and various nonprofit organizations including the Center for the Study of the Presidency, Institute of International Education, and the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars. Is rated as Chief of Party for Electoral Process Projects by the United Nations Development Program and has worked in 44 countries in the developing world. Has taught college level foreign policy writing course for more than 20 years and publishes regularly on international relations theory and practice. Has developed and written more than 250 successful proposals for governments, political parties, nongovernmental and nonprofit organizations, and institutions of higher education. Specializes in empowering aspirant project directors and project teams to win the resources that will allow them to realize their dreams. Has been with NOVA since August 2007.
