Neil Steinberg, along with his wife KD Kidder, has owned and operated Photoworks, in Leesburg, Virginia, for twenty-eight years. Coincidentally, that is the same amount of time he has been a photographer. "My background was in theater, and photography came as happenstance." He still uses film and darkroom, but the business of photography has meant a large transference of time and skills into digital imagery. Steinberg sees that as simply developing another tool in the box (no pun intended). "I enjoy playing with my images to create subtle tricks of the eye, while strengthening the overall composition. These days I tend to work towards a idea which will involve a series of images taken over a period of weeks or months. There may or may not be a commonality among the individual shots, but I will create a unifying thread."
