    Published by the Harvard School of Public, this regularly updated source provides information on all manners of nutrition.

Government Websites for Nutrition Information

  • CDC: Nutrition
    Compiled by the Center for Disease Control, this list of articles and websites focuses on healthy topics. Several resources focus on children’s nutrition. It also has data and statistics.

  • FDA Food
    The Food and Drug Administration’s website provides up-to-date information on food safety and recommendations, including guidelines and legislation.

  • Food and Nutrition Information Center
    This website is part of the USDA’s National Agricultural Library.

  • Nutrition.gov
    A portal for other websites, articles, and information on food and nutrition that is published by the government.

Professional Associations

  • American Society for Nutrition
    The American Society for Nutrition is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing together information from researchers, nutritionists, and industries regarding nutrition. They are responsible for several scholarly publications in the field of nutrition, including: The Journal of Nutrition and The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

  • American Dietetic Association
    Check out the “For the Public” tab to find updated information on common topics in nutrition. This page also offers other resources in Spanish and Chinese.


Tools

  • Choose My Plate
    This updated form of the food pyramid showcases the new plate format. It also has other resources recommended by the government for a healthy diet and nutrition, including interactive activities.

  • My Pyramid Tracker
    This resource is published by the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion. It offers a food assessment tool, which allows you to compare your nutritional intake to recommendations, and a physical activity tool that allows you to compare your physical activity to recommendations.

  • Web Dietician
    Check out the Webdietitian Modules on various topics. This provides an in-depth look at information related to dietetics.


Web Guides

  • Blonz Guide
    This comprehensive guide was created by a professor of nutrition at the University of California, San Francisco. It includes links to websites, newspapers, food associations, and other authoritative resources on nutrition.

  • Fruits and Veggies: More Matters
    Learn more about fruits, vegetables, and nutrition in general. Includes recipes, planning and shopping, and food label guides.

  • NutriWatch
    This website is managed by a medical doctor, and a researcher. They provide links to reliable websites on various topics, including regulatory issues, and food safety and technology. Some of the resources are older, but the site is well-maintained.
