Add NOVA Library Resources to Your Blackboard
Site
Why these special instructions? So that the links to the resources will work both on AND off campus.
Add
a Link to Proquest, JSTOR, Films on Demand
1) On the library databases page or the eBooks & eVideos page, RIGHT click on the name of the database you want to add.
2) Select “Properties.”
3) From the Address section, copy and paste the URL to Blackboard.
The URL given in the Properties window has a built-in code that will allow off-campus access.
Add
a Link to a Specific Video (or Video Segment) in Films on Demand
1) Find the video you want in Films on Demand*. Click on it.
2)
UNDER the video player, you will see a URL for the video title or segment.
Copy the URL under the video player to your Blackboard course; it will
work both on and off campus.
(NOTE: Do not use the URL in the address bar because it will not work from
off campus. Also, when you copy the URL under the video player, be sure to
get all the characters and be sure not to include any extra spaces at the
end.)
*Note: Films on Demand defaults to searching by Segment. For a particular
title, switch to "Search by Titles."
Add
a Link to a Specific Periodical Article
Databases vary, but here are a few examples:
Click
on the title of the article you want, then look at the menu to the right for
"Permalink." Click on Permalink, then copy and paste the given URL directly into
your Blackboard page.

When you find
an article you want, click on “Item Information.”
2)
Copy and
paste the “Stable URL” given below the citation information into the box at http://library.vccs.edu/reference/purltoez.htm
and click “Submit.”
3)

paste the Converted URL into Blackboard.
OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS
