GLOBAL AND RURAL HEALTH NURSING
Prerequisite: NUR 150 and a current passport. Corequisite: CST 229 Intercultural Communication. Applies principles and concepts of Transcultural Nursing in relationship to health promotion and disease prevention in global vulnerable populations. Provides an international/rural public health experience, allowing the student to apply concepts of epidemiology, environmental and public health. Students will travel to rural areas in underserved areas outside or inside of the continental United States. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 6 hours. Total 9 hours per week.
