About Our Program

The curriculum offered by the Physical Education Department consists of classes that fulfill the requirements for degree granting programs as well as lifetime sports and activites.

Students are required to take the Lifetime Fitness and Wellness class, PED 116, for one or two credits. The remaining one credit needed for graduation can be taken from the following offerings:
Aerobic Fitness or Aerobic Dance, Exercise and Nutrition, Yoga, Weight Training, Racquetball, Archery, Martial Arts, Fencing, Golf, Bowling, Ice Skating, Swimming, Skin and Scuba Diving, Modern Dance, Jazz, Ballet, Ballroom Dance, and Downhill Skiing.

In addition, the Physical Education program offers a Fitness Career Studies Certificate with a curriculum of 10 - 12 credits designed to train students to work in the health and fitness industry.
